Could my doctor deliver the baby early if i’m too stressed out from the things around me? I’m 33 weeks.”
By the last months of pregnancy most moms are really, really ready get their babies out. You probably feel huge, have aches and pains, can’t sleep, may have heartburn and hemorrhoids and other unpleasant symptoms. But no, it’s not safe or a good idea to birth a baby this early without a serious medical reason. A baby born at 33 weeks may have lungs that aren’t fully formed, causing breathing problems, and be at serious risk for other medical issues such as brain bleeding, a heart that is not fully formed, intestinal issues and eye issues that can lead to blindness. No competent doctor would agree to induce labor that early without an urgent medical reason.
The last few weeks can be really stressful and tedious, we know, but try some coping strategies: taking a walk, stretching, breathing deeply, going swimming, listening to music, distracting yourself with trashy TV, trying a prenatal yoga class, talking to a friend, changing your scenery with a day trip somewhere new, reading a book … and remember, babies are easier to take care of in there than out here!
