I know I have to go back to work, should I even try to breastfeed?

I am all into breast feeding, just because I hear how good it is for the baby. However, I’m planning to take 6 weeks off from work, or a little less. This is my problem, when I go back to work it will be near impossible to pump at all at work during 8 hours, I work behind a fuel desk. Would it be a good idea to breast feed for those few weeks, then use formula? Or should I just start out with formula?

When it comes to breastfeeding, the more breast milk the baby gets, the better. Even if
you are able to do it for only a short time, your baby’s immune system can benefit from
breast milk. Breast-fed babies enjoy a lot of health benefits, including lower rates of
heart disease, asthma, diabetes and obesity later in life. They are also less likely to die
from SIDS. And there are health benefits for moms as well: breastfeeding moms have
lower rates of breast and ovarian cancers, and osteoporosis after menopause. So even
if you know you will not be able to breastfeed in the future, or you think you will have to
supplement with some formula feedings, it’s still good to try to breastfeed as long as you can. Even if you can’t breastfeed all day, feeding mornings and evenings will also still provide many health benefits. For more on how to combine breastfeeding and formula feeding, try this link.
