Hi,
This is my second baby but this is my partners first and he is very paranoid about this baby. What can I do to keep him off his toes?”
Aren’t second pregnancies great? Once you’ve been through the experience before, you can relax a little bit, because even though you know that there will be parts that aren’t easy you know that you can handle them.
Your partner, on the other hand, doesn’t know what’s going to happen, so his imagination is left to fill in the gaps. And if he’s been watching a lot of medical dramas on TV, it’s no wonder if he’s a little nervous. You can help him by hooking him up with some quality information that will prepare him for what’s to come.
Sign up for a childbirth class and take it together, spend time with any new parents that you know, find a pregnancy book that suits his style (there are lots of books out there just for fathers), and involve him in your pregnancy by sharing what’s going on and giving him productive ways to help you.
