Is it normal around the later stages of your pregnancy for the baby to make you look very pregant at certain times of the day? Such as moring time I hardly look prego and then later you can really tell I am…I hope you can answer this my friends say that it is weird…”
Not weird at all— in fact, sounds like you’re more aware of your body than most people! How pregnant you look has to do with a combination of your abdominal muscle tone, fluid retention and the position of the baby, and these three things do change over the course of a day. Your abs, just like any muscles, will stretch to accommodate what’s demanded of them. So at the end of a day of supporting the baby’s weight, your belly can very well look more down-and-out than it did in the morning after a good night’s rest. Call it the bump slump. Also, the fluids and sodium you take in during the day can also make you more bloated as the day goes on, contributing to the effect (it can help to cut the salt and soda in your diet, and drink lots of water). And then there’s the baby, whose position changes can change the way your belly looks too. So you’re right and your friends are wrong.
