Had One Induction, Will I Need Another?

Marcie Jones Leave a Comment

This is my second pregnancy. with my first i was induced. Will that happen again or will I go into labor normally this time?”

To know if you’re at risk for an induction again you need to find out why your first labor was induced. Make sure that your health care provider has a copy of your records from your first delivery, and ask him or her to explain why your labor was induced last time. If it because you have a chronic condition like diabetes an induction or a scheduled c-section will probably be suggested again. If your induction was for a reason specific to that pregnancy, like placenta previa, a pregnancy that went beyond 42 weeks, or because your water broke but labor didn’t start, then it’s unlikely (though not impossible) that the same thing will happen again.
