Is it Okay to Eat Constantly?

Marcie Jones Leave a Comment

Hi. i am currently 31 weeks and 2 days and lately I’ve been constantly hungry. I just eat all the time. Is that okay and could that be due to how far i am into my pregnancy?”

Yes, it’s completely normal feel like a perpetually hungry foodmonster during in the third trimester. You might find you’ll eat a huge meal, feel so stuffed you can barely move… then find yourself feeling hungry again a half-hour later. This is because, starting at around week 30, your baby is taking extra calories to gain about half a pound a week, and at the same time, the baby’s larger size means that your stomach capacity is shrinking. The best cure for the constant hunger is to eat small amounts of healthy foods all day long. Keep some nuts, crackers or a dried fruit in your purse, so you can snack constantly and not get light-headed or so ravenous you end up raiding a vending machine. This far along in pregnancy it’s also a good idea to avoid very sweet or acidic foods, or consuming a whole lot of food at once, because that can often cause uncomfortable heartburn. Also avoid high-carb foods, which won’t fill you up for long and can increase your risk of getting a dreaded third-trimester yeast infection.
